Beyond the Pews - Official Review

In the book, Beyond the Pews, by Amy Ekwegh, you will feel compelled, convicted, motivated and remorseful. It takes the reader from a place of contentment and allows one to have a self-check on where he/she stand in the church ministry. From start to finish, I saw myself in each scenario mentioned in this book. Beyond the Pews is an easy and quick read. Once you start, you will not want to put the book down and can be read in a day. Ekwegh used biblical reference to prove the Christian's purpose goes beyond attending a church service. I do feel that there were some parts where the book became redundant. There were many mentions of “not leaning on others and having the will to go into prayer for yourself” and “having the faith to continue the Christian walk”. It would have been nice to see a chapter on Prayer and one on Faith to sum up those thoughts. For this reason, I would rate the book a 3 out of 5. No matter your position in the church, you will feel motivated to do more for the Kingdom! This was overall an enjoyable book and would be great for those who are new to the church and trying to understand ministry.

When God Made You by Matthew Paul Turner is a lovely children’s book that aspires children to learn who they are, and the purpose God created them for. It is a confident boost for little ones struggling with their identity.  I give this book a 5 out of 5 because was a great read that kept my children intrigued, with rhyming words and vibrant illustrations and started made the conversation about God and understanding one’s purpose a bit easier with my oldest child. The Dream Centered Life - Official Review

The Dream Centered Life: Discover What Drives You by Luke Barnett, is a must read for those who need a little push in putting thoughts into actions. As the author started in the beginning of the book, “everything starts with a dream”, is a reminder that anything worth having requires work and realization that God has plans for each of us. Barnett takes you on a journey of how he lost his dream only to go through the obstacles of finding it again. This book is needed for this time, as many people wonder who they are and what their true purpose involves. Burnett also teaches you that if you don’t have a dream or a purpose, you will live someone else’s. The Dream Centered Life is revelation for someone who is wondering in circles with no destination. I highly recommend and will be sure to give this book away as a raffle for an event or a Christmas gift.  This book can be found on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/Dream-Centered-Life-Discovering-What-Drives/dp/0735289654/ref...

Smart Investors Keep it Simple: Official Review

The book, Smart Investors Keep It Simple: Creating Passive Income with dividend stocks by Giovanni Rigters, was an awesome read. I purchased this book from Amazon via Kindle. I usually have a challenging time with Kindle books because I love having books to take notes in and highlight important parts from the text; however, while reading this book via Kindle, I had no issues at all. I was intrigued with every page as they were filled with knowledge for those like myself interested in investing in stock and have no idea where to start first. This book is great for those who are interested in investing and need some guidance in getting started. Without giving away too much, I do want to share that Rigters gave insight on ways to diversify your stock, in-depth questions on what to ask yourself when researching and analyzing the stocks to add to your portfolio, high quality dividend paying companies and so much more. As many know, investing in stocks can be intimidating, especially for ...
